Travel by airways in Thailand

Thailand is very famous for it’s tourism opportunities. Every year millions of tourists come to enjoy the place. They come from different corners of the world and so Thailand has opened all the three ways to reach the place i.e. airways, railways and roadways. While you are planning to visit Thailand take a look at the options in internal flights. These are usually very cheap compared to other flight services. Taking a flight to anywhere always lessens the hassle of going by bus or train. But this should be kept in mind that all the flights don’t go via Bangkok. Some of them take other routes such as Samui to Phuket takes twenty dollars and the time is five hours by ferry and bus whereas if you are ready to pay forty dollars the journey would be half an hour by plane. Fares are more or less fixed but vary according to different airways.

The internal network on Thai airways is excellent. This covers the whole country except Samui which is monopolized by Bangkok airways. The frequencies of these flights are also very good. Everyday there are 7-8 flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, 5 flights to Chiang Rai, 11-12 flights to Phuket, 4 flights to Krabi, 5 flights to Hat Yai, 2 flights to Surat Thani, 3 flights to Ubon Thani, 3 flights to Ubon Ratchathani, etc. Some of these cities are connected by direct flights to one another.

Air Andaman is third largest domestic flight service. This has hubs in Chiang Mai and also Phuket. You can also get the information on the Internet. This flight service is available at Krabi,Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani and some of other places besides these. Orient Thai flies thrice from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, once to Chiang Rai, once to Phuket, twice to Hat Yai and once to Udon Thani. Phuket Air is the only carrier serving west-coast Ranong. This has a daily flight to Bangkok. Phuket Air also provides service to Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, Udon Thani, and Mae Sot.
